The Incubateur du Barreau de Paris, of which Stéphanie Smatt Pinelli is an active member, organized a conference on the New Legal Business Models on 21 October 2015 at the HUB of the Public Investment Bank.
Three round tables were organized to debate, notably, the place of tomorrow’s lawyer in the digital landscape, his adaptation to his clients’ changing needs, notably that of the future of dispute resolution, including mediation and online alternative dispute resolution methods.
As a reminder, the Incubateur was created on 1 January 2014 by the Paris Bar and is the first European institutional Incubator dedicated to legal innovation. Its purpose is to observe the evolution of the legal professions (to reflect on their impact and to initiate debates and reforms to inflect our professional and ethical rules) and to accompany innovating projects, emanating from lawyers and non-lawyers (notably by organizing a yearly Legal Innovation Award).
Amongst the participants were eminent representatives of foreign Bars (Chicago Bar Association, Canada Bar Association, UK and Wales Bar Council), a judge, French and foreign lawyers, legal counsel and creators of innovating legal start-ups.
